What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We collect information from you when you place an order, subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey or fill out a form. When you are logged into our site, we may also collect information about your browsing and usage patterns on our site to improve your user experience. When ordering or registering on our website, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address, phone number and credit card information. You may, however, visit our site anonymously, except that when you visit our site some information is automatically collected. This may include information such as the Operating System (OS) running on your device, Internet Protocol (IP) address (which may be used to obtain your geolocation), access times, browser types, language, and the website you visited before our website. We also collect information about how you use our website, including the elements you have interacted with, metadata and other details about these elements and actions.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
How we protect your data
Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, except upon the sale of substantially all of the assets of Onyx & Rose and except for the purpose of delivering the purchased product or service.
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal identifiable information to outside parties, except we may disclose such information to trusted third parties that assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing your request, so long as the parties agree to keep the information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our website policies and Terms and Conditions, or protect ours or other rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Your contact information
The email address that you provide for order processing may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order, in addition to receiving company news, updates, products, and information. If you would like to unsubscribe, you may do so by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email.
When visitors to our website send email inquiries to us, we do not use the email for any other purpose than to correspond about the issue unless the visitor has also expressly requested to be included in our marketing communications.
We will make all legally required disclosures of any breach of security, confidentiality, or integrity of your unencrypted electronically stored “personal data” (as defined in applicable state statutes concerning security breach notification) to you via email or conspicuous posting on the website as promptly as possible taking into account the needs of law enforcement or any reasonable steps necessary to determine the scope of the breach and restore the integrity of the website and our system.
California Privacy Rights
We value your privacy and have taken steps to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act; therefore, we will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.
